RALEIGH, N.C. – Fifteen employees of the state of North Carolina were recently honored with 2015 Governor’s Awards for Excellence, an accolade recognizing their outstanding accomplishments and dedicated service to the State and citizens of North Carolina. The Awards for Excellence were presented to honorees at a ceremony held at the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh.
The congratulatory event is part of Excellence in State Government Week and was hosted by the Office of State Human Resources and sponsored by the member-funded State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) Foundation. Officials from the Credit Union and the Foundation were on hand, including SECU Foundation Board Chair Jim Johnson, who welcomed guests to the ceremony.
“State Employees’ Credit Union members are proud sponsors of the ceremony, paying tribute to our State Government employees whose role as public servants extends far beyond their normal duties,” said Jim Johnson. “The work of these individuals is often behind the scenes, but invaluable to the citizens of North Carolina whose lives have been and continue to be enhanced by their contributions and excellence in service. Congratulations to this year’s Governor’s Awards for Excellence winners – they set a shining example for all of us!”
“These recipients are terrific role models for our State. They have big hearts and they care about providing outstanding customer service to the citizens of North Carolina, which shows in their actions, values and ethics,” said Governor Pat McCrory. “The 2015 Governor’s Award recipients are an inspiration, and they should be commended for their dedication, compassion and integrity.”
