St. Cloud FCU Staff Participate in 'Community Day'

ST. CLOUD, Minn.–St. Cloud Federal Credit Union closed its branches on Monday, Oct. 9 for its third annual “Community Day” designed to make a difference in the community. The credit union sought to partner with local non-profit organizations to donate time for over 60 employees, ending the selection process with a member nominated organization, Eagle’s Healing Nest.

Eagle’s Healing Nest prides itself on healing the invisible wounds of war by embracing veterans, service members and their families. They help by reintegrating veterans back into the civilian world and their families. Employee volunteer time was used to help prepare the facility for a remodeling project, as well as help with landscaping, and packing bags for an upcoming fund-raiser.

Melony Butler, Founder and Director of Eagle’s Healing Nest, was appreciative of the credit union’s commitment to an entire day. “What an amazing gift the employees of St. Cloud Federal Credit Union gave. It is that commitment to community and lending a hand that has helped our nest grow,” stated Butler. The program houses military members and families so that 77 at a time can call the nest their home, while receiving hope and healing.

“I am so proud to work for an organization that gives back to our communities, and it was an honor to partner with Eagle’s Healing Nest and the great work they do in the community!” stated Marie Hess, Member Advisor at St. Cloud Federal Credit Union and Project Leader for the Community Day. “Our credit union’s mission is to make a meaningful difference with our members and our communities, and that was certainly the spirit of our Community Day!” stated Hess.
