STRATFORD, Conn.,– Sikorsky Credit Union recently announced the promotion of Kristen Birge to the position of Vice President of Risk Management.
Ms. Birge joined the Credit Union in 2015 as Risk Manager. Since joining the Credit Union, she has advanced the initiative of reducing fraudulent activity impacting its members, implemented departmental controls to comply with federal regulations and refined the vendor management process. Brian Nesgoda, Senior Vice President of Risk Management/CISO noted: “Kristen Birge has introduced a wealth of improvements to the risk department in her short time here, and there has been a very positive impact. I look forward to her continued success.”
Ms. Birge also has an extensive background in the Baml Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering sector of the banking industry. She holds her CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) certification and is an excutive board member for the ACAMS Connecticut Chapter Group. Prior to working at Sikorsky Credit Union, Ms. Birge worked at various financial institutions in the northeast, most recently at People’s United Bank. She is a Milford resident.
