STRATFORD, Conn.– Sikorsky Credit Union joined forces with William B. Meyer Inc. and the Stratford Rotary in hosting a Shred It Day event at the Baldwin Center in Stratford, and gave local residents an opportunity to protect their personal information by having paperwork properly destroyed .
While giant trucks were being filled with shredded paper, funding was taking place for a community project. A donation was requested of “Shred It Day” participants, with proceeds going toward the purchase of dictionaries and thesauruses for Stratford elementary school students.
“This event fills an important need for the community,” Diane Farrell, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Sikorsky Credit Union. “Some of our members drove nearly an hour to have their papework safely destroyed. The community focus on protecting personal information and helping children is very important to us.”
