Sikorsky CU Wins Desjardins Award

STRATFORD, Conn.–Sikorsky Credit Union has won the Desjardins Youth Financial Education Award from The Credit Union League of Connecticut. This is the fourth consecutive year the CU has earned the distinction.  The Desjardins program recognizes leadership within the credit union movement on behalf of financial literacy for all ages.

Each year, Sikorsky Credit Union fully sponsors financial reality fairs for six local high schools and awards five $1,000 college scholarships. The CU also has programs for high school interns throughout the school year and summer. These interns gain valuable work experience while learning about the financial services industry. Additionally, SCU said it offers a savings account to help its youngest members get on the road to savings.

“Sikorsky Credit Union is committed to financial literacy and the investment in teaching younger members about financial wellness,” stated Sikorsky Credit Union CEO Vincent Ciambriello. “We are so proud to have once again received this award.”
