STRATFORD, Conn.–Sikorsky Credit Union organized Back-to-School Drives at its branches to give back to children in their local communities.
"The start of the new school year is an exciting time," the CU said. "Yet, this exciting time can be stressful for some families who cannot afford to purchase school supplies for their children. To help ease this stress for many families, Sikorsky Credit Union organized Back to School Drives in their Stratford, Milford, Shelton, Brookfield and Trumbull branches. Members and employees donated generously and the school supplies were given to local non-profit organizations."
The nonprofit organizations that were donated to include the Sterling House of Stratford, Boys & Girls Club of Lower Naugatuck Valley, McGivney Center of Bridgeport, Boys & Girls Club of Milford and the Community Action Agency of Western CT.
“Now many children are prepared to have to a good start to the school year,” said Maxine Jones, Shelton Branch Manager. “It’s important to give back to the community and we enjoy being able to contribute to the Boy & Girls Club of Lower Naugatuck Valley whenever we can,” she explained.
