Securityplus Federal Credit Union Participates In Way Day

BALTIMORE– Securityplus Federal Credit Union participated in Way Day, a volunteer initiative led by the United Way of Central Maryland in celebration of their 100th anniversary on the 100th day of the year.

Held at CareFirst in Mondawmin Mall, the event united community champions across the region to deliver acts of kindness for local youth.

As part of the initiative, nine dedicated Securityplus employees volunteered their time to assemble more than 600 toiletry and calming kits. These kits—filled with hygiene essentials and mindfulness tools—will be distributed to students in elementary, middle, and high schools throughout Baltimore City through United Way’s Neighbors United program.

“Securityplus is proud to partner with the United Way of Central Maryland to make a meaningful impact for our community,” said Atia Ross, Member Experience Manager and leader of the Community Impact Team. “By focusing on the needs of students in our community, we’re building a stronger, healthier future—one kit at a time.”

This behind-the-scenes effort reflects Securityplus’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and youth empowerment. The volunteer team included Atia Ross, Jeff Gehris, Charlita Stevenson, Suzette Hedgepeth, Mary Pratt, Keshawna Fisher, Anthony Carpenter, Ross Thornton, and Martishay Robinson.
