TUSTIN, Calif.— SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union said it partnered with Friends of Sacramento Arts for the fourth annual Heroes of Arts Education Gala, held March 12 at The Sofia, Home of B Street Theatre in Sacramento, to recognize educators and community leaders advancing arts education in K-12 schools.
The gala honors teachers and advocates working to expand access to arts education across the Sacramento region, with awards presented to educators from local school districts for bringing art and music into classrooms in creative and impactful ways.
“We’re proud to partner with SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union to honor art and music teachers who inspire creativity and self-confidence every day,” Allison Cagley, founding executive director of Friends of Sacramento Arts, said in a statement. The nonprofit supports arts organizations and school districts by providing resources and connections aimed at expanding equitable access to the arts.
“As a credit union founded by and for educators, we recognize the teachers who inspire creativity, build confidence and make a lasting difference in students’ lives every day,” Josh Smith, vice president of school and community relations at SchoolsFirst FCU, said, adding arts education remains essential to student success.
