San Antonio FCU Helps Rise Recovery

SAN ANTONIO--Security Service FCU’s Charitable Foundation has presented Rise Recovery with a $10,000 donation that will be used to offset costs for providing direct substance abuse recovery services and educational outreach to thousands of teens, young adults and families in Bexar, Comal, Kendall and Bandera Counties.

Rise Recovery, formerly known as the Palmer Drug Abuse Program, provides free counseling, peer support, intervention, drug-free activities and prevention education to help those caught in the web of addiction. “As vice chairman of the Board of Trustees for Rise Recovery, I have witnessed first-hand the impact this organization has on the local community,” said Gerry Smith, assistant vice president of human resources for Security Service Federal Credit Union. “Its mission of helping people overcome the effects of mind-changing chemicals has impacted tens of thousands of lives since its founding in 1977. We are honored to be able to support them in their efforts.”
