FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. Casey Carlson, vice president of marketing for SPIRE Credit Union, has been named a 2016 Credit Union Rock Star by CUNA. The awards program recognizes those who demonstrate outstanding innovation and creativity in their chosen fields and, by doing so, have made the credit union movement a better, more interesting place.
According to the credit union, Carlson has raised the bar on creativity, strategy and execution of SPIRE’s marketing efforts. “He has a fiercely creative marketing mind, at the same time as having keen expertise on strategy,” the credit union said. “Having started over 20 years ago as a teller, and working his way to SPIRE’s VP of Marketing, his co-workers enjoy the opportunity to learn from his experience. He has been pivotal in building the SPIRE brand into what it is today.”
As a result of Carlson’s strong interest in sports, SPIRE said it has forged strategic partnerships with several Minnesota sports teams over the years. SPIRE had a multiple year partnership with the Minnesota Timberwolves, and is a founding partner at CHS Field, home of the St. Paul Saints. Casey understands that sports are cyclical, and as a result of his depth of knowledge, SPIRE has been able to align and partner with sports organizations, bringing vast brand awareness to SPIRE.
“We are so proud of Casey for achieving the Credit Union Rock Star honor,” said Dan Stoltz, President/CEO of SPIRE, “He is never afraid to roll up his sleeves and get in the trenches with his team when needed. Casey’s value system is instrumental to his success, both personally and professionally!”
