SPIRE Staff In Fin Lit 5K; CU Marks Partnership With Raceway

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn.–SPIRE CU Here recently participated in a Financial Literacy 5K, as well as celebrated its new partnership with Ogilvie Raceway.

Dan Stoltz, president and CEO of SPIRE Credit Union, recently challenged SPIRE employees to participate in the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation Financial Literacy 5K.  To encourage participation, Stoltz guaranteed that he would personally contribute $50 for each participant who beat his time.  As it happened, ALL SPIRE participants beat Stoltz’s time, and $500 was contributed to the SPIRE Give Back Fund benefiting local charitable organizations.

All proceeds from the Financial Literacy 5K go to the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation Financial Education Grant Program, awarding grants to fund projects, programs and initiatives that help improve the personal finance skills of consumers and communities across Minnesota.

“It was so great to see the hundreds of people who turned out for this event to support financial education,” says Stoltz, “I’m so proud of the SPIRE team for their support of community and giving back!”

Separately, with  record attendance at the track, SPIRE Credit Union and Ogilvie Raceway celebrated their new partnership.  SPIRE Night featured Archie, the 1952 Ford pickup truck, as the pace car, t-shirts launched to fans, lots of racing, and fireworks followed the action-packed evening.

“Sponsoring the Ogilvie Raceway is a way for us to bring the SPIRE brand to our northern communities and be able to interact in a different way with race fans while supporting a family-owned, community business,” said Casey Carlson, SPIRE’s Vice President of Marketing. You’ll notice SPIRE on a mega-billboard, signage throughout the track and our staff will be at races throughout the season to promote SPIRE.

Ogilvie Raceway is a high-banked 3/8 mile oval dirt track, located on Highway 23 near Ogilvie, Minnesota. The 40 acre complex built in 2008 includes over 12,000 square feet of climate controlled spaces, featuring a full kitchen, bar and restaurant area, hospitality kiosks and display areas, modern restrooms and VIP suites. The meticulously maintained grounds also include south facing grandstands, high quality lighting, a state-of-the-art public address system and a trackside tailgating section along the turns where fans can watch the action from the comfort of their car, the back of their pickup truck or in their RV.

“This is only the beginning of a fantastic partnership between SPIRE and the Raceway,” said Stoltz, “I’m so excited to continue our support of the vibrant and close-knit community of Ogilvie!”
