FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn.–SPIRE Credit Union has been selected as one of Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal's 2021 Best Places to Work honorees and has also awarded scholarships.
To determine the honorees, nominations were sought from companies in the Twin Cities region. Research partner Quantum Workplace distributed surveys to all Minnesota-based employees of those nominated companies asking participants to rate their employers on a variety of questions related to management, communication, and more.
Quantum tabulated the scores from those confidential surveys to identify 70 honorees. Companies were placed into categories based on number of employees. SPIRE was in the “large” category of 250 or more employees.
"We want our employees to enjoy working at SPIRE," stated SPIRE President/CEO Dan Stoltz. “This is reflected in the hard work and dedication of our staff to improve the lives of our members and community each and every day. I couldn't be prouder of our team.”
Along with the other honorees, SPIRE will be featured in the Business Journal's August 13 Best Places to Work special edition.
Scholarships Awarded
Separately, SPIRE Credit Union has awarded $5,000 in scholarships to members in both Traditional and Non-Traditional categories. The five winners will each receive $1,000. More than 160 applications were reviewed by a team of SPIRE employees, rating applicants on school and community involvement, as well as essays answering the question, “How has the global pandemic financially affected you and/or your family, and what steps have you taken to manage your finances throughout this time?”
Since its inception, the SPIRE Scholarship Program has awarded a total of $48,500 in scholarships to 83 credit union members.
“SPIRE’s Scholarship Program represents our core purpose of improving lives, and core action of giving back,” said Stoltz. “A heartfelt congratulations to each of our winners and best wishes for continued success.”
