ST. CLOUD, Minn.–SPIRE Credit Union has purchased land for a new branch here. Located on the Southeastern corner of the Crossroads Mall parking lot, between Red Robin and Panda Express, the branch will serve St. Cloud and the surrounding communities.
SPIRE currently operates a small office in Roosevelt Office Park, serving 2,000+ members added in July 2019 after merging with Energy Services Federal Credit Union. The CU had served the St. Cloud community since 1933 when the credit union was founded to serve employees of Northern States Power Company.
“This is the next step in the future of our credit union” remarked Darrell Ostendorf, former Energy Services FCU Board Chair, “Now that we’re part of the SPIRE family, we have the opportunity to move into a beautiful new facility, and our members will enjoy the benefits of a full-service location. It’s a wonderful thing that’s happening for our members and any future members.”
SPIRE has 20 branches throughout Minnesota.
“We look forward to greatly expanding services and conveniences to the greater St. Cloud area,” stated Jim Ganger, SPIRE is SVP/chief retail officer. “The new branch will help us achieve our daily goal of providing service, service, service.”
Expected to open in summer 2021, the 5,000+ square-foot branch was designed by HTG Architects and is being built by Greiner Construction.
