FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn.–As part of its 82nd Annual Meeting, SPIRE Credit Union held a food drive, accepting donations for Second Harvest Heartland, one of the nation’s largest, most efficient and most innovative food banks.
Enough food and money was collected to provide nearly 1,400 meals for needy families. “Our employees and membership continue to amaze me with their commitment to the SPIRE mission of improving lives,” said SPIRE President & CEO Dan Stoltz.
Separately, SPIRE Credit Union hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to commence the construction of its new full-service branch to be located at 195 Radio Drive in Woodbury, Minn.
Credit union industry leaders, community leaders, Woodbury Area Chamber of Commerce members, construction and design team members, architects, and several SPIRE employees and volunteers were in attendance at this event.
Special guests Lisa Weik, Washington County Commissioner, and Kathy Bayliss, Woodbury Area Chamber of Commerce Board Chair, addressed the crowd, welcoming SPIRE to its new Woodbury location and thanking them for their long-standing commitment to the community. John Wendland, General Counsel for the Minnesota Credit Union Network, was also there to support the celebration.
“We are so happy to offer Woodbury and the surrounding areas easier access and expanded hours of service with the construction of this branch.” said CEO Dan Stoltz “I’m so proud everyone who has worked so hard to make this day happen!”
The 5,000+ square-foot branch, expected to open September 2016, was designed by RSP Architects and is being built by Kraus-Anderson Construction Company.
