SPIRE CU Hosts Toy Drive; Helps Feed the Homeless

FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn.– SPIRE Credit Union recently hosted its Annual Toy Drive, collecting hundreds of new toys for local families.  Items donated were given to the Boys & Girls Club of the Twin Cities.

“Our members and employees are unwavering in their support of our communities and local children,” says Dan Stoltz, SPIRE CEO/President. “There were most certainly many happy faces as children opened their new toys!”

Each of SPIRE’s 16 branches collected toys donated to local organizations within the communities they serve.

Separately, for the third year, SPIRE employees have volunteered to make sandwiches for the homeless.  More than 40 employees in three SPIRE locations gathered to make 1,200+ sandwiches for the Minneapolis Recreation Development, Inc. (MRD) 363 Days Food Program.

MRD is dedicated to serving the homeless community, vulnerable individuals, disadvantaged youth, and their families in the Twin Cities through their three programs. Enabled by the generous support of their donor community, from 9 pm to10 am every night Founder Allan Law drives throughout the Twin Cities serving people in urgent need in homeless shelters, and on the street. Making as many as 50 stops a night, he distributes donated sandwiches, basic necessities, and encouragement to the homeless from the back of the MRD minivan.
