SYRACUSE, N.Y.--SEFCU has hired Kendra Rubin as its Chief Legal Officer.
Rubin is a highly qualified attorney who brings to SEFCU nearly a decade of legal experience in the credit union industry, government, and the private sector. Rubin will serve as SEFCU’s general counsel, working closely with both internal and external business partners, providing legal advice and strategy to senior management, and managing external legal counsel relationships. She will also oversee contract administration, regulatory compliance and advocacy, the CU said.
“I was drawn to SEFCU because of its sense of service, both to its members and the community. My own personal sense of service drove my career in government, and I look forward to continuing that commitment to others while at SEFCU,” said Rubin. Rubin comes to SEFCU from the New York Credit Union Association where she served as Vice President of Government Affairs. In that role, Rubin was responsible for leading the NYCUA’s state and federal lobbying and advocacy efforts and helped to bring engagement with the Association to a 20-year high.
