ALBANY, N.Y.–High school and college students throughout the Capital Region, Syracuse, Binghamton, and Buffalo were awarded a total of $50,000 in scholarships this week by SEFCU as part of the credit union’s annual scholarship program.
Students’ applications were evaluated based on academic achievements, leadership positions held, a written essay, and community service. This year, SEFCU scholarship recipients completed almost 14,000 hours of volunteer service in their communities.
The scholarships were awarded in an online celebration with attendees from across the state.
SEFCU awarded scholarships to a total of 41 individuals.
