RALEIGH, N.C. – The SECU Foundation, the charitable arm of State Employees’ Credit Union, has announced a new initiative in partnership with Hospice of Surry County, Inc., SECU Hospice Home of Yadkin.
Representatives from SECU and the Foundation met with partnering officials at the four-acre site of the future hospice facility in Yadkinville for the formal presentation of a $1 million challenge grant to assist with the construction of an inpatient and residential hospice care facility for terminally ill patients and their families. SECU Foundation Board Chair McKinley Wooten, Jr. presented the check to Hospice of Surry County, Inc. on behalf of SECU members who fund the SECU Foundation.
“There just aren’t enough words to properly express my thanks to the members of SECU for their generous grant, which will help us build a hospice home that will serve patients and their families in Yadkin County and throughout the region,” stated Denise Watson, Executive Director of Hospice of Surry County, Inc. “The SECU Foundation has been a long-time supporter of our mission, and their challenge grant will not only boost our capital campaign, but I’m sure will inspire others to contribute as well. We are extremely grateful for the gift and the continued support.”
