Robins Financial Awards $40K in Grants to Teachers

WARNER ROBINS, Ga.–Robins Financial Credit Union has providef 20 local teachers with grants through its third annual GRANTED program.

GRANTED was created by the credit union in 2022 in an effort to alleviate some of the financial burden on local teachers and provide them with the tools they need to educate and engage their students.

Educators who teach grades K-12 at schools located within one of Robins Financial’s 45 counties of membership were eligible to apply, the cu said.

Selected recipients receive classroom supplies or monetary donations to purchase items from their classroom wish lists.

This year’s 20 recipients received a total of $40,000.

“I am so incredibly grateful for Robins Financial Credit Union’s generous donation to my classroom,” Joshua McCorkle, teacher at Central High School in Macon, said in a statement. “With this support, I will bring cutting-edge technology to facilitate hands-on activities and seamlessly integrate artificial intelligence into the classroom. Robins Financial’s contribution is helping shape the future, where all students will grow and thrive in a 21st century global society.”

Robins Financial said it believes education is a step on the path to a bright future. Creating the GRANTED program is just one of many ways the credit union supports this belief. Robins Financial also offers digital financial education courses and other helpful products, ensuring its members have the tools they need to make sound financial decisions.

“By supporting our teachers through the GRANTED Program, we are investing in the future of our community,” RFCU President and CEO Christina O’Brien said in a statement. “Our commitment to the well-being of our community goes beyond providing financial services; it’s about making a meaningful impact, and this program is just one of the many ways we aim to make a difference. Together, we can provide the tools needed to inspire, educate and empower our students to succeed.”
