GRANITE CITY, Ill.— Revity Credit Union employees raised $1,455 for Pound Pets Inc. through the credit union's Jeans for Generations program, a workplace giving initiative that allows employees to support local charities while wearing jeans and tennis shoes on Fridays and Saturdays.
The July donation will help the nonprofit care for homeless and at-risk animals in the community.
The Jeans for Generations program reflects the credit union's "People Helping People" philosophy, with employees making monthly charitable contributions to organizations selected for their impact on local communities. July's recipient, Pound Pets Inc., rescues homeless animals through foster care, adoption programs and community outreach.
Revity said the donation will help provide food, shelter, medical care and other essential resources for animals awaiting permanent homes. The credit union added that the employee-driven program underscores its commitment to supporting organizations that strengthen the communities it serves.
Revity Credit Union, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year, said its employees continue to demonstrate the cooperative spirit that has defined the organization for generations through community service and charitable giving initiatives.
