GRANITE CITY, Ill.—Employees at Revity Credit Union raised $1,450 for the National Children's Cancer Society through the credit union's Jeans for Generations program, an employee-driven charitable initiative that supports nonprofit organizations while marking Revity's 85th anniversary of community service.
Under the program, employees make monthly donations to a designated charity in exchange for the opportunity to wear jeans and tennis shoes on Fridays and Saturdays. Revity said the initiative reflects the credit union philosophy of "People Helping People" by encouraging staff to support organizations that make a meaningful difference in their communities.
June's beneficiary was the National Children's Cancer Society, which provides financial assistance, emotional support, educational resources and advocacy for children battling cancer and their families. Revity said this year's charitable giving efforts carry added significance as the credit union celebrates 85 years of serving its communities.
"At Revity Credit Union, we are proud to support organizations that provide hope and assistance to those facing difficult circumstances," the credit union said in a statement. "The National Children's Cancer Society makes a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families every day, and we are honored to contribute to their mission."
