SANTA ROSA, Calif.—RCU Insurance Services, a unit of Redwood Credit Union, has acquired a full-service insurance agency, SST Insurance Brokers, to enhance its operations. This addition will allow RCU Insurance Services to improve its current program with local in-person consultations and other added benefits to its existing insurance offerings for individuals and businesses, according to the credit unions.
Bay Area-based SST Insurance Brokers has become part of RCU Insurance Services, and over the next year, SST will transition to the broker for RCU Insurance Services, which has offered auto, home, commercial and other insurance products to Members through a network of outside brokers and agencies since launching in 2001, the credit union said.
Current SST employees, including owner Douglas Mahon, have become employees of RCU Insurance Services. The brokerage will continue to operate as SST during the transition, and SST will continue to service the policies of its current policy holders for the foreseeable future.
