Redwood CU's Derkes Honored With Women in Business Award

SANTA ROSA, Calif. — Kristina Derkos, senior vice president of administrative services for Redwood Credit Union (RCU), was recognized with a Women in Business award by the North Bay Business Journal at a recent celebration event in Santa Rosa, Calif.

Ms. Derkos received the award for her contributions to RCU’s growth and internal company culture, as well as for her leadership in the local professional community, serving on multiple nonprofit and community boards, as well as being heavily involved with several local human resources groups. Under her leadership, RCU has been named “Best Place to Work” in the North Bay for 11 consecutive years, in part due to her commitment to fostering a positive, productive workplace for RCU’s staff.

“Kristina has had a significant positive, impact on Redwood Credit Union and our community, and we are thrilled to see her recognized for her contributions,” said Brett Martinez, RCU’s president and CEO.

Kristina Derkos has more than 20 years of professional human resources experience and has been a senior vice president with RCU for the past 11 years, currently overseeing RCU’s human resources, training, administrative, facilities, and account services teams. She earned her master of professional studies in human resource management from Penn State, and her bachelors of arts in public administration from University of San Francisco. She also has her certificate in human resources from Sonoma State University and is a certified senior professional in human resources by SHRM and HRCI.
