SANTA ROSA, Calif.–Redwood Credit Union (RCU) has received the North Bay Leadership Council’s “Paint the Community Green” award for excellence in environmental stewardship. The award was accepted by RCU President and CEO, Brett Martinez, at the Leaders of the North Bay awards luncheon.
“Redwood Credit Union is committed to the environment and earth-friendly practices that benefit Members, employees, and our community,” said Martinez. “We are very proud to have received this award and hope our efforts will contribute to a healthy and sustainable environment for all.”
The hallmark of RCU’s ongoing commitment to green business practices is its LEED Silver-certified administrative building in Santa Rosa, which features over 2,000 high-efficiency rooftop solar panels. Other sustainability programs include recycling at all locations, water-efficient landscaping and restrooms, loans discounts on qualified fuel-efficient vehicles, solar loans, and green financial services such as paperless online banking, bill pay, and eStatements. RCU also partners with many local environmental community groups including Center for Climate Protection and the Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation.
