RTN Helps Provide Thanksgiving Meals

WALTHAM, Mass.–RTN Credit Union provided a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for four Waltham families with food collected through its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive that took place during November. As in past years, Tom Scafidi, owner of the Common Café, donated the turkeys and RTN collected the rest at RTN branches. RTN collected canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, chicken broth, gravy, apple cider, breads, stuffing, nuts, pasta and sauce, dried beans, rice, deserts, and supermarket gift cards.

The Thanksgiving Food Drive is organized through the RTN Employees Community Outreach Committee, made up of RTN employees who contribute funds and volunteer to assist local organizations and charities throughout the year.

“We really appreciate the generosity of our members and staff who donate food items to help make sure families in need can enjoy Thanksgiving dinner,” says Robin Hartnett, RTN regional branch manager. “The upcoming holiday season is a busy time for everyone. At RTN, this time of year is an opportunity to give back to the community and to our members through events at our branches, and by supporting events and projects in the communities near our branches.”
