TYSONS, Va.--PenFed Credit Union has promoted two top executives.
- Lisa Jennings, currently Senior Executive Vice President, has been promoted to First Senior Executive Vice President;
- Shashi Vohra, currently Executive Vice President and President of Affiliated Businesses, has been promoted to Senior Executive Vice President and President of Affiliated Businesses.
“It gives me great pleasure to promote from within our ranks,” said President and CEO James Schenck. “These two accomplished leaders have an average tenure of 36 years with PenFed. Lisa and Shashi have the breadth and depth of experience to lead the business forward. They epitomize the PenFed culture of selfless leadership and commitment to our mission, to our members, and to our partners.”
Jennings, who has been with PenFed for 34 years, will be responsible for corporate strategy and policy, the credit risk group, human resources, corporate security, and enterprise data and business intelligence. In addition, a new group will be added to strategy and policy: the Corporate Project Management Office (PMO).
Jennings has previously held positions of Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, and the Chief Audit Executive at PenFed. She is a graduate of George Mason University (B.S.), a Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Vohra, who has been with PenFed for 38 years, will be responsible for marketing, corporate and business development, all consumer loans and deposits, and all affiliated businesses including Berkshire Hathaway Home Services PenFed Realty, PenFed Title, and CU Rate Reset. In addition, Vohra will oversee PenFed’s digital transformation and establish a new division of commercial banking, the CU said.
Vohra previously served in a number of roles at PenFed including Vice President of Accounting/Controller for 14 years during which he managed the financial affairs of the company, including the implementation of multiple financial software applications. He was CFO for the Credit Union Service Organizations (CUSOs) and the PenFed Foundation. Vohra earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting from India. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the Commonwealth of Virginia and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Jennings and Vohra’s promotions will take effect Aug. 11.
