Pen Air FCU Donates $25K For Hurricane Victims

PENSACOLA, Fla.–Pen Air Federal Credit Union has donated $25,000 to CUAid.coop, the relief program of the National Credit Union Foundation (NCUF), to help support fellow credit unions, their employees and volunteers who have been impacted by Hurricane Maria, Hurricane Irma and Tropical Storm Harvey.

This gift is comprised of donations from Pen Air employees, members, and the credit union’s Communerosity funds. The monies will go to CUAid’s General Relief Fund, which will allow the flexibility to direct dollars to wherever they are needed most on an ongoing basis.

“Thanks to donations from the credit union community such as Pen Air FCU’s to CUAid, thousands of credit union people in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico can start putting their lives back together,” said Christopher Morris, Director of Communications at the NCUF. “That’s the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people’ in action.”

“The most sincere form of respect is truly being there for one another during the most difficult times,” said Stu Ramsey president and CEO of Pen Air. “As a credit union on the gulf coast, we understand what it’s like to face devastation. So, we’re taking the opportunity to enhance the lives of those impacted, and send this gift to help them rebuild their communities and homes.”
