Pen Air CU Provides Grants to Local Teachers

PENSACOLA, Fla.–Pen Air Credit Union annual #TreatATeacher campaign provided grants to teachers across Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Baldwin counties.

Each year, PenAir asks its Facebook and Instagram followers to nominate their favorite teacher. After receiving an overwhelming response of approximately 150 nominations, six outstanding teachers were recognized for their dedication and profound impact on the community, including:

Baldwin County:

Rosinton Elementary - Melissa Baggett

Foley High School - Candace Tolbert

Escambia County:

Pine Meadow Elementary - Tricia Stroud

Dixon School of the Arts - Latisha Tucker

Santa Rosa County:

Jay Elementary - Nicole Pritchett

Berryhill Elementary - Amanda Pippen

Each honored teacher received a $1,000 grant for their classrooms, and every student in their classes received PenAir-branded school supply bags. This year's campaign featured an additional initiative, providing supply bags for each student, a thoughtful gesture facilitated by the collaborative efforts of PenAir’s Communerosity Committee.

"The #TreatATeacher competition is such a fun way to recognize, love, and support our local teachers,” stated Casey Brueske, community education development specialist for PenAir. “We take you ‘back to school’ by engaging our followers to nominate deserving area teachers. They do so much for their students, and this is just a small way for PenAir to give back to them.”
