Peach State Supports REACH Program

CARNESVILLE, Ga.–  Peach State Federal Credit Union has committed to contributing $5,000 to Franklin County Schools’ REACH Program over the next five years. The program will receive $1,000 each year through 2023 from the credit union.

The REACH Georgia Scholarship Program was designed with students in mind who have good grades and behavior, yet may lack the motivation, vision and financial support for a post-secondary option, the credit union said. At least three 8th grade students are chosen annually to be scholarship recipients based upon certain criteria, expectations and goals.  Once selected through a rigorous application process, students must continue to meet those expectations in order to be scholarship eligible upon graduation.  These scholars will regularly meet with mentors and academic coaches, and participate in career and college preparation activities.

“Our foundation is rooted in education and we honor those roots through contributions to programs just like this,” said Marshall Boutwell, Peach State’s President/CEO. “This donation is the fourth of its kind to school systems in the North Georgia area and serves a symbol of our ongoing commitment to support education throughout our community.”
