AUGUSTA, Ga.–Peach State FCU is sponsoring Warrick Dunn Charities, Inc.’s (WDC) Homes for the Holidays program, which provides opportunities for economically disadvantaged single parents who have demonstrated a commitment to achieve financial independence and stability.
The credit union has committed to making two $10,000 contributions to the program this year. The first $10,000 went to the completion of Homes for the Holidays’ 169th recipient, Valencia and her four sons. The surprise reveal took place with community leaders, volunteers and the media in attendance.
“As a Community Development Financial Institution, Peach State shares similar values with Warrick Dunn Charities,” remarked Demitra Houlis, chief administrative officer for Peach State. “Putting an emphasis on financial stability benefits the community as a whole. We’re proud to join Warrick in lifting up and providing resources for those in need.”
The credit union’s second $10,000 contribution will support an additional Homes for the Holidays recipient in the Augusta market later this year.
