DECATUR, Ga. – Peach State Federal Credit Union has donated food to the Decatur-Area Emergency Assistance Ministry (DEAM), a nonprofit organization that provides emergency help for local residents to prevent homelessness and hunger.
Collection boxes have been placed in every one of Peach State’s 12 branches as well as the corporate office. Credit union members and employees have been able to help support four different food banks with their donations this year.
“We are proud of the generosity of our members and staff, and this yearlong dedication to contributing to our communities,” said Peach State President/CEO Marshall Boutwell. “We strive to support the community in any way we can—the community is our home and it is important that we do our part to maintain its strength and promote prosperity.”
DEAM serves more than 250 local families each month and is run almost entirely by volunteers in space donated by local churches. The organization estimates that they distribute an average of 7,000 pounds of food each month.
