HARRISBURG, Penn.–PSECU kicked off its annual Minor League Baseball-centered sponsorship of Children’s Miracle Network at a Lehigh Valley IronPigs game at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown. This was the first of nine such game day events the credit union said it will hold this summer throughout the Lehigh Valley, as well as Central and Southcentral Pennsylvania.
Each event entails PSECU hosting Children’s Miracle Network children and their families for a Minor League Baseball game. The experience includes complimentary tickets, pre-game opportunities like stadium tours, and participation in the game’s ceremonial first pitch. Additionally, over the course of the summer, PSECU will cumulatively donate more than $16,000 to the Children’s Miracle Network cause through funds raised during commemorative jersey and memorabilia auctions.
“PSECU follows the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people.’ This was true more than 80 years ago when our 22 founders pooled resources to start the credit union in hopes of taking control of their finances and making a better life for themselves and their families, and it is true today,” said PSECU President Greg Smith. “Our support of the Children’s Miracle Network, in conjunction with Minor League Baseball, allows us to help others in a way that everyone can enjoy – a day at the game. It really is a win-win.”
