PSECU Cuts Ribbon on New Financial Education Center

WEST CHESTER, Penn.– PSECU hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its newest Financial Education Center, which opened at West Chester University. The center is the 22nd of its kind that the credit union has opened at higher education institutions throughout the Commonwealth with the goal of providing students, faculty, and staff with the assistance and resources they need for financial success.

“Since 2000, PSECU has been forging strong relationships with educational partners across Pennsylvania, making strategic investments that benefit all members, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni,” said PSECU President Greg Smith. “Our Financial Education Centers – like the one at West Chester University that we are celebrating today – are especially important because they give students educational opportunities that can set the foundation for their future financial well-being.”

In addition to providing financial services, PSECU is committed to engaging with the West Chester University community through student internship opportunities and financial education workshops. PSECU’s paid on-campus internship opportunities will be available to students who are interested in gaining real-world experience in areas such as marketing and business operations. The financial education workshops will be open to members of the campus who are interested in learning more about managing their finances.

“West Chester University is proud to partner with PSECU in a venture that will enable our students, as well as faculty and staff, to take advantage of a host of financial resources right on campus. As we work to equip our students with the essentials that they will need to succeed in a rapidly changing world, the internships provided through this collaboration will be critical to the hands-on learning needed for student success in a multitude of fields,” said West Chester University President Christopher Fiorentino. “Promoting unique opportunities like this for WCU students is a win-win for the University and PSECU.”

“Membership in PSECU lasts a lifetime. As we like to say, once a member, always a member,” said Mike Verotsky, PSECU Director of University Development. “That means that not only will PSECU’s products, services, and resources be available to West Chester University’s student population while they study, but also after they graduate and face new financial challenges and opportunities.”
