HARRISBURG, Penn.– The Pennsylvania Credit Union Association (PCUA) Compliance Team members have achieved full Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist (BSACS) certification, with four of the five team members passing the final test in early May. This certification is in addition to the Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) certification that each team member currently holds.
“Compliance is one of our main priorities,” said PCUA President & CEO Patrick Conway. “I am very pleased that all of our compliance experts continue to broaden their knowledge base in order to provide world-class service to our credit unions.”
PCUA Assistant Vice President of Compliance and Audit Services Kim Zelna, CPA, Compliance Consultant Cindy Russell, Compliance and Operations Officer Ann Renfrew, and Compliance and Operations Officer Erin Ensminger earned their BSACS designations, joining Compliance Consultant Joanne Broderick, who already holds the certifications.
The BSACS designation is offered by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) through its Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) School. The school features an in-depth course in understanding the BSA regulations, developing a comprehensive BSA program for a credit union, and incorporating the best policies and procedures into that program.
The PCUA Compliance Team was also recently named a national compliance service provider by CU Solutions Group for ComplySight, a web-based compliance management tool that provides content credit unions can use to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. As one of five national ComplySight consulting providers, the PCUA Compliance Team is equipped and ready to partner with credit unions around the country in order to provide them with ComplySight consulting to maximize usage and benefits.
Operating as a national ComplySight consulting provider paired with the entire team’s full certifications in both BSACS and CUCE, the PCUA Compliance Team is prepared to solve any and all compliance challenges credit unions may face.
