INKSTER, Mich. – One Detroit Credit Union said it will open a mini-branch this Fall in Inkster, Mich.
“The mini-branch aims to bring banking services closer to residents by being nestled inside the city’s community hub, the Booker Dozier Recreation Center,” the credit union said, adding the branch will be full service.
For 90 years, One Detroit Credit Union said it has served as Detroit's community financial institution with a mission to impact and change lives, especially those overlooked by the mainstream banking system.
"We intend to become an active community partner and fully support and develop products that meet the specific needs of Inkster residents,” Chief Experience Officer Portia Powell said in a statement. “Our commitment extends beyond just offering financial services; we plan to be deeply involved in the Inkster community by forming partnerships that foster financial wellness and prosperity for everyone. Through our initiatives, we aim to empower individuals, support local businesses, and contribute to the overall economic growth and stability of the area.”
The city of Inkster has historically had limited access to convenient financial institutions, the credit union said. One Detroit added the city is currently dedicated to holding a firm emphasis on growth under its current theme, “Discover. Grow. Unite” and the branch will honor that legacy. .

With a “focus on accessibility and efficiency,” One Detroit said the mini branch will provide a range of services, including:
- Partnership introduction of Greenpath and Mortgage Center
- Account Management: Open new accounts, manage existing accounts, and receive personalized financial advice.
- Loan Services: Featuring the signature Refi My Ride program.
- ATM Services: 24/7 access to cash withdrawals, deposits, and other essential ATM services.
