NEW ORLEANS–New Orleans Firemen’s FCU has named Megan Brummer as its 2024 Teacher of the Year.
“Brummer, a dedicated educator at Samuel Green Charter School, teaches a wide range of grades from Pre-K to 8th,” the credit union said, “She has also established several student clubs, including Baking and Spanish Cuisine, enriching her students' learning experiences.”
In its inaugural year, Firemen’s Federal invited nominations for outstanding K-12 educators from public, charter, and private schools across Louisiana and Mississippi.
An external committee selected the winner based on their expertise and positive impact on their students and communities.
“We are thrilled to recognize Megan as our first Teacher of the Year,” said CEOJudy DeLucca. “Her hard work and dedication to her students and community are truly inspiring. With educators like Megan, we know the future is in good hands.”
