MOBILE, Ala. —New Horizons Credit Union employees raised funds during 2020 for select charities, which included local animal shelters such as the local Animal Rescue Foundation, Mobile County Animal Shelter, Daphne Animal Shelter, and Clarke County Animal Shelter. Each received a portion of the $1,000 raised.
New Horizons Credit Union employees vote annually on which charities they would like to support as part of the team’s Horizons Helping Hands community outreach program. The fundraising primarily stems from special jeans days to other internal activities conducted to help generate the fund-raising spirit throughout the CU.
Local animal shelters were selected because these organizations are sometimes forgotten about and need support just like any other organization – especially during the recent pandemic. However, the Horizons Helping Hands community outreach program also supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and The Penelope House during 2020.
“Our New Horizons Credit Union Team is responsible for making this donation possible. I am so proud to be part of such a giving organization which continues to support the community even through these uncertain COVID times,” said President/CEO Edith Franklin.
