MOBILE, Ala.— New Horizons Credit Union’s employees presented a check for $250 along with boxes of needed supplies to the Penelope House.
New Horizons Credit Union staff raised funds through special jean days and advertised branch locations as supply drop-off sites. Penelope House was chosen to help based on the results of an annual internal survey whereby New Horizons Credit Union staff selects the corporate charities they want to see their Credit Union support.
The prevention of domestic violence through education and public awareness is the goal of Penelope House, which provides refuge for victims and their children when their lives are in imminent danger.
“I am proud with how our employees and members respond to the needs of our community – especially to help organizations like Penelope House continue to do the good work they provide,” said New Horizons Credit Union President/CEO Edith Franklin.
