MOBILE, Ala.–New Horizons Credit Union awarded five $1,000 New Horizons Credit Union Scholarship winners. Applicants were chosen based on their academic achievement, community involvement, and essay responses.
Each scholarship winner was recognized at the NHCU Annual Meeting in April. The students are also presented with a certificate for their scholarship at their respective high school’s Senior Awards Day. A check for the $1,000 scholarship will be sent to each recipients’ college or university of choice.
New Horizons Credit Union offers five, $1000 scholarships annually. A student must be a graduating high school senior and have a New Horizons Credit Union New Wave Savings Account for eligibility.
“We believe in giving back in our community – especially through education,” said President/CEO Lisa Corvo. “Nearly 100 applications were received which made the decision very difficult. We wish all the students success in their pursuits.”
