New Hampshire FCU Partners With Food Bank

CONCORD, N.H.–Over a two-week period, New Hampshire FCU and NH Food Bank (NHFB) partnered to accept donations for the New Hampshire Food Bank.

During InTown Concord’s Market Days Festival, 116.6 pounds of food donated translated into approximately 97 meals for the hungry.

A week later at a Plaza Block Party & Member Appreciation Day at NHFCU in Lee, monetary and non-perishable food items donated resulted in nearly 219 meals. The grand total of approximately 316 meals for the hungry will serve the needy in New Hampshire thanks to the generosity of NHFCU members and employees, the credit union said.

“When school is out those who rely on free or reduced breakfast and lunch will go without, something no child should have to experience and no burden a parent should feel," said Nancy Mellitt, NHFB Director of Development. "In addition to food distribution, NHFB is also able to provide essential programs like summer feeding, which provides free meals to children and some families in need in rural, high poverty areas around the state.”
