New England FCU Expands FOM

WILLISTON, Vt.— New England FCU has been approved by NCUA to add 10 counties to its field of membership. The expansion allows NEFCU to offer its services to anyone who lives, works, worships, studies, or regularly conducts business in the area. The rural district increases NEFCU’s field of membership by 650,000 potential members, an increase of approximately 15% current potential membership.

In Vermont, NEFCU’s expanded field of membership includes Addison, Bennington, Caledonia, Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle, Lamoille, Orange, Rutland, Washington, Windham, and Windsor Counties. In New Hampshire, NEFCU’s new field of membership includes Grafton, Cheshire, Sullivan, and Merrimack Counties.

NEFCU said it enlisted the help of CUCollaborate to add the rural district to their existing field of membership. CUCollaborate provides consulting services to help credit unions expand field of membership with their regulator.

“As Vermont’s largest credit union, we are thrilled to serve more of the state and expand our membership into New Hampshire. The credit union remains committed to providing the same value to these communities as we have for over 50 years to the current membership,” said John J. Dwyer, Jr., NEFCU president and CEO.

“We are excited by NEFCU’s expanded field of membership. Every expansion we assist with furthers our efforts to help Americans improve their financial wellness through access to the superior financial products and services offered by credit unions like NEFCU,” added Sam Brownell, founder and CEO of CUCollaborate.
