SOMERVILLE, Mass.–For the ninth consecutive year, Naveo Credit Union participated in the Miracle Jeans Day initiative to raise funds for Boston Children’s Hospital, the local Miracle Network hospital. During September, Naveo joined hundreds of organizations and raised funds from employees and members. Naveo then matched the employee donations for a total donation of $1,500.
Naveo participated in the Miracle Jeans Day initiative by trading in their business attire for jeans and their favorite New England sports team tee shirt in exchange for a donation to Boston Children’s Hospital. To raise additional funds, Naveo extended employee jeans day to all Fridays throughout September. During the donation period, branches were equipped with canisters to collect donations from members.
This year, some of Naveo’s management team had the opportunity to meet with representatives from Boston Children’s Hospital for a tour to learn how the dollars raised from Miracle Jeans Day goes toward helping children and families in need. At the end of the tour, Naveo presented a check for $1,500 to the hospital.
“The generosity of our members and employees year-after-year is a true demonstration of the credit union philosophy of people helping people. Miracle Jeans Day continues to top fundraising effort and one that we know makes a direct impact by providing medical needs to children in our community,: said CEO Rui Domingos. “Our visit to Boston Children’s Hospital was an eye-opening experience which allowed us to see the dollars we raise at work to help kids feel more like kids while at the hospital.”
