SOMERVILLE, Mass.–Naveo Credit Union said it participated in the nationwide social media blitz, #ilovemycreditunion, on July 29th and raised $400 for local non-profit business members, Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS) and Community Cooks.
The social media blitz was launched by Illinois Credit Union League, with the goal to share stories of the credit union philosophy.
Naveo said it took a creative approach to the social media blitz by implementing a fundraising component. Throughout the day, stories from employees, members and beneficiary non-profits were posted as images and videos on Facebook and Instagram. For each like, share and comment, Naveo donated $5 to MAPS and Community Cooks.
The social media blitz gained momentum throughout the day bringing awareness to the unique experience of being a credit union member as well as to the local non-profits that do so much for the community and neighborhoods Naveo serves.
“The 'I love my Credit Union' day was a fun way to engage our members, employees and community to share the important work that credit unions do and the impact on our communities,” said commented Andrea White, President/CEO of Naveo Credit Union. “The credit union philosophy of people helping people guides us each day to help improve the lives of our neighbors. We are proud of our employees and their commitment to the mission.”
