SOMERVILLE, Mass.– Naveo Credit Union is celebrating its 90th Anniversary throughout the year with several member-centric activities. Naveo kicked off the festivities on March 2, the day it was were incorporated, with an in-branch event. The focus of its year-long celebration is to focus on its members and give back to the community while reflecting on the past.
To kick-off the anniversary celebration, Naveo hosted a festive celebration including serving breakfast, giant balloons, photo props, cupcakes with its logo, and CD specials. The celebration continued the following week with snacks at the branch each day, raffles and a prize wheel with fun prizes including PopSockets, ear buds and more. Naveo has other celebratory events scheduled throughout the year including a “Talk and Taste” business wine tasting networking event and a member barbeque.

From our humble beginnings in 1928 as Cambridge Portuguese Credit Union, when we only served the Portuguese immigrant community that lived in the City of Cambridge, to now Naveo CU, an inclusive financial institution with the same mission of ‘Saving Together to Lend to Each Other.’ This motto is what drives us to remain a relevant financial institution in the communities we serve,” said Rui F. Domingos, CEO. “Although technology has revolutionized the way we bank, we haven’t forgotten that we are in the business of helping people. I’m extremely proud to lead an organization with such a remarkable history, an amazing staff and a board of directors that are still true to the Credit Union mission that was created 90 years ago by a group of visionaries.”
