NWFCU Foundation’s Superheroes Offer Critically Ill Children A Night of Magic

HERNDON, Va.—More than 130 critically ill children and their families recently attended the Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation’s 7th annual Night of Magic event.

The children receive care at INOVA Children’s Hospital in Fairfax, Va., and the annual event is a chance for them to enjoy music, food, and games in a party atmosphere. This year’s event was superhero-themed, giving the children the chance to dress in costume and interact with volunteers dressed as their favorite characters.  During the event, Northwest Federal Credit Union’s president and CEO, Chris McDonald, presented a $5,000 donation to the hospital’s Child Life Services, a program dedicated to easing children’s anxiety during hospital stays.

“The Night of Magic is special to everyone in the Foundation and Northwest Federal,” said McDonald. “Our 48 volunteers worked tirelessly to make it an event these deserving children will never forget, and our generous sponsors gave of their time, talent, and resources with the sole hope of making a difference in the lives the children, their families, and Child Life Services at INOVA Fairfax.”
