PAPILLION, Neb.—NCUA Chairman Rick Metsger visited PenFed Credit Union’s first branch in Nebraska. The branch is strategically located between the Omaha metropolitan area and Offutt Air Force Base. Instead of imposing teller counters and long rope lines, PenFed said the new branch layout encourages members to walk directly to service representatives at individual stand-up desks or sit with them in private offices. Waiting time has been virtually eliminated.
“We are honored that the Chairman of our federal regulator and our members’ deposit insurer chose to visit PenFed’s newest branch,” said PenFed Board Chairman Ed Cody. “PenFed is one of America’s fastest-growing credit unions, and working cooperatively with NCUA ensures we will continue growing safely and soundly.”
Metsger also toured PenFed’s service center in Omaha, where more than 250 employees handle telephone inquiries and process loan applications from PenFed members around the world.
Combined with a similar service center in Papillion, PenFed employs 503 dedicated staff in Nebraska to deliver best-in-class service for the credit union’s 1.4 million members.

- Leaders of four local charitable organizations to which PenFed and the PenFed Foundation have donated a total of $18,000:
