Moon Chapter Helps Feed the Hungry on Earth

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich.–The Moon Chapter of Credit Unions of the Michigan Credit Union League presented a check in the amount of $10,811.32 to Feeding America West Michigan as the result of a fundraising campaign to reduce the region’s food insecurity named “Credit Unions Feed West Michigan.”

The campaign’s goal was to raise $10,000 for families in need, starting with a $2,500 donation from both the Moon Chapter and the Michigan Credit Union Foundation. The campaign quickly exceeded its goal, reaching $10,811 with the help of 10 participating credit unions.

“Your donations will provide 40,000 meals for our neighbors in need,” said Susie Dutcher, Development Manager for Feeding America West Michigan.  “It is so nice to be able to spread some positivity during these times and see the ripples in our community.”

The Moon Chapter of Credit Unions is comprised of fifteen CUs that are headquartered in the counties of Muskegon, Ottawa, Oceana or Newaygo counties.  Together, these credit unions represent more than 112,000 members and $1.1 billion in assets.
