Mission FCU, Community Donate $364K to Food Bank

SAN DIEGO– Mission Federal Credit Union raised $364,147 to benefit the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank. The total includes $30,476 raised by Mission Fed, $50,000 as part of its dollar-for-dollar match grant, and $283,671 from its website.  The total amount will provide 1,820,732 meals for San Diegans suffering from food insecurity.

“Thank you to our dedicated staff and remarkable San Diego community of supporters who have come together during this unprecedented time, “said Debra Schwartz, CEO of Mission Federal Credit Union. “The results of this campaign speak to the heart and generosity of our community as we help each other during this COVID crisis.”

Online donations will remain open through the end of June and the community can continue to support the campaign by visiting www.missionfed.com/GivingBack. For every $1 donated, the Food Bank is able to provide five meals to families in need.

“On behalf of the San Diego Food Bank’s staff, board of directors and family of volunteers, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mission Federal Credit Union, its members, and everyone who supported Mission Fed’s campaign for the Food Bank’s COVID-19 Response Fund,” said Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank President & CEO James Floros.
