MidUSA Helps Stuff the Bus, Awards $500 Gift Card

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio–Capping off its month-long Stuff the Bus campaign, MidUSA Credit Union awarded a $500 Visa gift card to one of its members.

In keeping with its mission to help strengthen the community, MidUSA said its campaign was designed to support local schools by providing needed school supplies and materials through a partnership with Crayons to Classrooms. Part of MidUSA Credit Union's mission is to lead in the community and actively participate where staff live, work, and shop, said the credit union, which said the communities it serve include Middletown, Trenton, Monroe, Springboro, Kettering and Vandalia, Ohio.

Barbara March, a MidUSA member who frequents the Kettering MidUSA location, was randomly selected as the winner from all those who made donations.

“As she does not have any children who are currently in school, Barbara’s contributions and donations truly came from the heart knowing the need exists,” the credit union said.

March selected Dayton Christian Schools to receive the additional $500 donation from MidUSA.

“I’ve always felt it important to volunteer and give financially to charities or organizations that are important to me personally, whether that be locally or globally,” said March. “This year I felt it important to focus on my own local community. The recent Stuff The Bus Campaign collection offered through MIDUSA, allowed me to focus on tangible items that can be used by students in local schools. I’m also pleased to know that the money being donated to the school of my choice will assist the students during these difficult times.”

Through its Stuff the Bus campaign, in conjunction with Dayton’s ABC22/FOX45 TV stations, MidUSA was able to generate nearly 1,200 supply items that will be donated to area schools for staff and student use.

“As students prepare for a return to a school that will be unique and different to say the least, this is a challenging time for many families. Our team responded with a great effort to show our support for teachers, our local schools, and to reach out and help local students,” shared Lisa Parks, MidUSA’s marketing manager.

Added James Miles, president and CEO, of MidUSA Credit Union, “One key value of MidUSA Credit Union is compassionate service, which shows up daily in our member interactions and is highlighted in special community support programs like Stuff the Bus. I am proud of our team, thankful to our members, and pleased our efforts will make the return to school a little brighter this year.”
