ROANOKE, Va. – Each year, Member One Federal Credit Union employees are invited to participate in its quarterly “Denim Days for Charities.”
Local organizations are chosen by Member One to receive monetary proceeds in exchange for employees having the privilege of wearing jeans on the specified denim day during each quarter. All proceeds raised by employees are donated to the specified organization.
Member One Federal Credit Union presented three local organizations with the Denim Days funds received during 2014 and 2015: United Way of Roanoke Valley, Children’s Miracle Network at Carilion Clinic Children’s Hospital in Roanoke and Roanoke City Public Schools, specifically the “pack-a-snack program” which sends children in need home with food for the weekend.
United Way of Roanoke Valley received $908.61, Children’s Miracle Network received $527.00 and Roanoke City Public Schools received $1,806.00.
Member One’s denim days for charities initiative gives employees the chance to give back to the community, supporting local organizations in Member One’s member service area.
